Business Development & Sales — AI Chartering Solutions

ShipLinker is hiring a results-driven Business Development & Sales professional to bring our AI chartering platform to the global shipping community. In this role, you will own the full commercial cycle — opening doors with shipowners, charterers, and fellow brokers, converting them into ShipLinker subscribers, and nurturing long-term relationships that turn first-time users into advocates.

About the role

You will act as the face of ShipLinker in the chartering market, building a book of business across owners, charterers, and brokerage houses while championing how AI can streamline their day-to-day workflow. This is a hunter-and-farmer role: equal parts new business development and account management.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with shipowners, charterers, and brokerage firms across your network.
  • Drive adoption of ShipLinker's AI-powered chartering platform and subscription services through targeted outreach, demos, and consultative selling.
  • Represent ShipLinker at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to grow brand presence and pipeline.
  • Gather market feedback from clients and prospects to inform product direction and positioning.

What we're looking for

  • An existing network among shipowners, charterers, or shipping agents — a significant advantage.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with genuine enthusiasm for innovation and technology in shipping.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working familiarity with maritime chartering practices and documentation (fixture notes, recap, charter parties).

Operations

Chartering Broker & Operations — AI Chartering Platform

Singapore or remote · Base + performance commission

ShipLinker is hiring an experienced Chartering Broker to run the day-to-day operations of our AI-powered chartering platform. You will be the human expertise behind the algorithm — onboarding new clients, turning AI-generated matches into real fixtures, guiding users through every step of the deal, and ensuring every transaction meets the standards of the international chartering market.

About the role

This is a hands-on operational role at the heart of ShipLinker's product. You will own the workflow from the moment a new client signs on — walking them through their first use of the platform — all the way through to a signed fixture: qualifying opportunities, brokering negotiations, coordinating documentation, and supporting post-fixture operations. You will work side by side with our clients — owners, charterers, and brokers — and serve as a critical feedback loop to our engineering and product teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Onboard new clients onto the ShipLinker platform — set up their accounts, walk them through key features, and ensure a smooth first-fixture experience.
  • Operate the ShipLinker AI Chartering platform on a daily basis, managing live inquiries, negotiations, and fixtures in line with industry standards.
  • Guide clients through the full chartering journey, from AI-driven match to firm offer, counter, and fixture.
  • Conduct negotiations on behalf of clients or alongside them, ensuring commercial terms, charter parties, and recaps are accurate and market-aligned.
  • Coordinate post-fixture operations — laytime, statements of facts, voyage documentation, and dispute support where required.
  • Act as the trusted day-to-day point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships and driving platform adoption.
  • Monitor market trends, vessel positions, and cargo flows to enrich the platform's intelligence and improve match quality.
  • Partner with the product and engineering teams by sharing real-world chartering insights and client feedback that shape platform development.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in shipbroking — dry bulk, tanker, or general cargo preferred.
  • Strong understanding of chartering practices, market conventions, and standard documentation (fixture notes, recaps, charter parties, COAs).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the credibility to operate confidently with owners, charterers, and brokers.
  • A client-first mindset — patient and clear when guiding new users, proactive in following up, and attentive to client needs throughout the lifecycle.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, able to juggle multiple live deals and onboarding accounts without dropping the ball.
  • Comfortable working with technology and digital tools — and excited about how AI can elevate, not replace, the broker's craft.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the mindset to thrive in a startup environment.
